The Australian Dreamtime Series

This is a series of albums featuring different aspects of Aboriginal Dreamtime culture. The featured artist on this series is David Hudson. David is possibly Australia’s leading exponent of the didgeridoo. He has toured the USA and Europe both independently and with the legendary Yanni. Produced by Nigel Pegrum (from English band Steeleye Span), this series of albums is David’s latest release and captures not only the spirit of the Dreamtime but also a variety of exciting and innovative didgeridoo performance blended with traditional and contemporary sounds.

Jinna Jinna (Dreamtime Stories): (ASR1001)

Traditionally based Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime stories narrated by David Hudson accompanied by atmospheric contemporary and traditional didgeridoo based music are featured here. This album features the traditional meditative qualities of the didgeridoo played by one of the worlds leading exponents. The sparse ‘spiritual’ sounds make this an ideal album to enhance meditation or personal relaxation. (released July 2007)

The Primal Elegance Series

Combining the elegance of classical music with the primal spirituality of the didgeridoo, the ‘Primal Elegance’ series of albums is truly different and engaging. Didgeridoo legend David Hudson and pianist Mark Mannock invoke the style of the European tradition and give it a freshness and uniquely Australian flavour. Interpreting some well known ‘classical’ themes and composing and improvising new music inspired by the classics, these musicians have created a rich and dynamic tapestry.

Features a totally new side of the talents of David Hudson. Known around the world for his didgeridoo recordings, using his vocal prowess David has turned his love of roots and country music into an exciting album of original songs penned in collaboration with award winning songwriter Mark Mannock and produced by world renowned producer Nigel Pegrum. Highlights include a stunning duet between David and Shane Howard performing Shane's Australian classic 'Solid Rock' and guest appearances by Australian country legend Irene Cara from the USA. Seaman Dan - ISLAND WAY: (ASR 1008)

ARIA award winner Seaman Dan's music portrays a mixture of Australian Blues, Hula, Slow-Jazz and Pearling songs, reflecting the many cultures and traditions found in the Australian Torres Strait and various other places where he lived, including Darwin and Broome in Australia, and Papua New Guinea – where he absorbed the beautiful island's music. He describes the development of his music as: "Thursday Island is a multi-cultural society, and through the pearling industry there were songs from all over the world. You listen to all these elderly people as they sing and you add bits and pieces to your own song as you go on". Seaman Dan's 'Island Way' combines the traditions of Australia, America, Africa and Polynesia into a truly unique musical style.

Wilma Reading - NOW YOU SEE ME: (ASR 1006)

Australia's Indigenous 'Lady of Song' has returned to Australia to rediscover her Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander roots and be inspired by her homeland. With a career spanning movies in Hollywood, television, lead roles in musicals on London's west end and performing in Duke Ellington's band, Wilma is inspiring many young artists who recognize the story of the young indigenous girl of the 60’s who took on the world and won. 'Now You See Me' successfully combines Wilma Reading's jazz influences with the earthy sounds of her indigenous traditions.
